Not only is February Black History Month, but it is also Veguary. It’s an opportunity to commit to eating vegan for a month along with highlighting the contributions made by Black trailblazers. This free event is powered by the Afro-Vegan Society, a nonprofit organization that helps people in marginalized communities transition to the vegan lifestyle.
People in marginalized communities are typically overlooked when it comes to vegan activism and thus miss out on the information that would empower them to live healthier, kinder and more sustainable lives.
There’s still plenty of time to get involved with Veguary. The site’s Veguary Resource Library is packed with education sessions, recipes, cooking demos and wellness sessions to help you dive in. Take the pledge at AfroVeganSociety.org.
